Washington Capitals vs Carolina Hurricanes.

The Washington Capitals and the Carolina Hurricanes meet for the 3rd time this season. The Capitals have lost both meetings with the Hurricanes. Tonight the Capitals look to end the two game losing streak against the Hurricanes and look to forget a 5-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. The Capitals also look to increase the margin of points between the Hurricanes and Capitals from 4 to 6 points. The Capitals are currently sitting in 2nd place in the Metropolitan division with 39 points, Penguins lead the division with 53 standings points.

The Capitals also look to give Alex Ovechkin an opportunity to set a career milestone of 400 career goals. Philipp Grubauer will also make his 5th NHL appearance against the Hurricanes, who decided to go with Cam Ward in the net.

Expect a low scoring, hard hitting affair between the division rivals. Image
