The Capitals and Sabres meet for the third and final time this season. The Sabres seem to have the Capitals number. They won the first two meetings, both games were won by the Sabres in a shootout with a final score of 2-1. The Capitals snapped a seven game losing streak on Saturday night against Montreal. Braden Holtby had a dominant shutout performance.
The Sabres net minder, Ryan Miller, seems to always play his best when the Capitals come to town. Ryan Miller is playing like his usual self. Ryan has posted a .926 SV% and has a 2.62 GAA%. The Sabres aren’t having their best season. They have only won three of their last 10 games. The Sabres will look to spoil the Capitals trip to Buffalo with a series sweep.
Before I wrote this preview I indulged in the motion picture called “The Mighty Ducks“. As the movie came to an end I realized that no matter how bad a team is, they can always get better. The Capitals are 3-5-2 in their last 10. Washington won their first game on Saturday in Montreal after losing 7 straight. The Capitals can move just one point out of a playoff spot with a Detroit loss and a win over the Sabres. Washington will look to keep the Sabres brooms away Tuesday night in Buffalo.
